Historical Background
Sri Srivasa Pandita was one of four brothers (Srivasa, Sri Rama, Sripati, Srinidhi) who previously lived in the Srihatta district. Srivasa was the chief of the four brothers. His wife was Sri Malinidevi, a close friend of Sri Sachidevi. He understood that Sri Krishna would appear in the house of Jagannatha Misra and played a pivotal role in Lord Caitanya's early pastimes. It was at his house that Sri Caitanya performed His first sankirtana and revealed His four-armed Vishnu form.

Sri Srivasa Pandita is one of the five members of the Pancha-tattva, representing the pure devotee (bhakta).
